Boone, Iowa | I bought a 7120 MFD to pull our John Deere 16 row vac planter. We also used it to pull our 1200 gallon/80 ft boom post sprayer, 525 bu. grain cart, 32 ft disk for really light disking and a 13 knife NH3 bar. We overhauled this tractor when we bought, since we found some antifreeze in the oil pan when changing main and rod bearings. The pump and injectors were sent in and pump was set to 175 hp, which was 10% over stock. When we sold the tractor, the new owners wanted it set up to 200 hp. They claimed their Case-IH shop had done it to alot of tractors in their area and got along fine. If I was going this much, I would be installing an exhaust pyrometer and/or installing an intercooler. The intercooler would be as easy as removing a plate on the intake manifold, dropping the intercooler in, adding some coolant lines and replacing the injector lines. | |
