Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums.
My neighbor plants a couple acres with one. You can still buy those 71s brand new. I think Yetter took them over. We plant several hundred acres with a 7300 MaxEmerge2 vac planter. (I know you have at least ONE of those Jeff, no you probably have 1720s right?) WD used ours last year, but then built his own from Monosem units. We use the small sweet corn disk and use silicon to block every other hole to get the spacing as low as we want. You need a final pop of about 12-14K per acre. Vac is pretty low, around 4 or 5 depending on whether you're planting yellow or zuchinni. Have fun spraying every 5 days. Email me direct if you want to plant a couple hundred acres.
