Canmore Ab. Canada | It seems to be assembled correctly as we have spent a fair bit of time comparing and looking at it. The main difference seems to be they shortned the lower frame about a foot from the auger to the wheels to give a bit more reach into the bin. That makes the wheels pivot toward the bottom of the auger faster when you start to lift it and the bottom gets lighter... fast. Had one of my friends about 3 feet off the ground and ready to let go when they were moving it one day until his man grabed on and pulled him down.
You are right about the sudden change in grain flo causing the thing to jump but sometimes that happens????
I think what we are planning to do is off set the lower ears where the frame attaches to the auger to get clearance for the new pulley system and then add some neater weights to keep it down. It may take a couple guys to move it but nobody should die...
Once in a while farm machinery manufacturers should put their engineers out in the field to work with one of their new inventions before releasing it to farmers for testing. May save some problems.
Thanks Ross and all. Dan... | |
