I would check the resistance of the green field wire to the alternator with a DMM. If this was high resistance it could throw off the regulator output. Should be 0 ohms. This module looks different than the one used on the TW20. Does this mount behind the battery on the step frame? If the case of the regulator is metal and grounds to the frame make sure that area is clean.

Usually the regulators are rock solid. Never had to replace one on the 4 older Fords we have/had. Had to replace the alternator after the commutator wore out.
