ESN is the type of product that you would use preplant because you don't want to topdress / sidedress. In a topdress situation I would definitely go with the treated urea.

You DO NOT want to use ESN for top dressing. It can float and takes a lot of water to break through the polymer coating that controls the release time.

Like the others have said ESN is a product you want to put out before the crop is planted, work into the soil, and have N available later in the season without having to side/top dress.

It is an expensive product.

I am actually surprised by the number of posts we see on here about this topic... suppliers should KNOW this is not the correct use of ESN.

You want to use Agrotain treated Urea and try to time application with in a week of a rain.
