Not sure what style tarp you have but we've used something similar to this many times. They work great and last a long time. We try to get by for a while until the holes are so bad we HAVE to replace it. I don't think I've ever had a repair fail but we do clean it really well and use ether to get any oil off. Then I cut the patch and round the corners so it won't try and tear off easily. Put a board or something behind it so I can put some pressure on it to stick it well. Works for us here.
