There can be a alleopathic effect of the wheat stubble decompositon on the vigor of the corn. Depends on conditions and hybrid. If the corn is notilled into the stubble, I have seen a lot less of this happening. The bigger challenge is the muddy conditions that can exist if there has not been a double crop or cover crop to help dry out the field before the corn is planted. Depends on your location.
