Virginia | Why do you want to roll them up? Much better left in the field here in VA but maybe you don't get the decomposition in WI that we do. We only bale in an emergency when cow feed is scarce or we need the bedding.
Local extension agent did a study here and concluded they have much more value left in the field.
5 X 6's sell for maybe 20-25 a bale here. I wouldn't think of selling them for that. No way does it cover the baling cost and value of the nutrients removed. | |
