We use the Vertex VX2100 and VX2200 radios, bought some new locally and some used from Ebay.  Also have a couple handhelds when we need something portable.  The local shop took care of getting our license/frequencies, and can program the radios.  I also got my own programming software and cable to program additional radios.

The Yaesu 2900R mentioned above is a good radio, but is for non-commercial, licensed amateur radio use only.
