...wow, I'm not sure you've got your story straight there Badger. I've seen beets with so many tops..that the trucks trying to run alongside a harvester had to be pulled because they would spin out on them. That comes from over application of nitrogen. If they have extreeeeeeeeeeemely sandy soils..I could see maybe 150 units slowly doled out in irrigation water....but I want it on where the beets run out of easily available nitrogen about the first of October here. Then they can work on sucking the sugar back out of the leaves with the frosts we get instead of trying to keep growing.
