It appears this is seed that originates from our neighbors to the North Manitoba from an actual seed company. I think their were quite a few acres of these sold last year from HWY 2 north and I recall they were looked into but I never heard of any farmers getting into trouble. I believe the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association was involved but I don't know much more. I did talk to one person last fall that did plant them and didn't get into any trouble. He didn't save any seed as he hauls everything to town at harvest.
You could always call the crop improvement association and ask as I'm sure they are very aware of this and report back to us all on the true legalities. | |
