South cental Ohio | Around here Kuhn is the rotary rake of choice. Neighbor has a double hitch Miller Pro 1150's and I do his mechanic work. From what I saw on his rakes I's stay away from them--- at least the ones like he has. one of his is junk because of the cost to repair it. The main cast pieces that the rake rotates on wore out and lets it wobble.... thus letting the gear mesh get too sloppy. They only have a snap ring holding those pieces together --- and these are MAIN pieces. Just check it out good !!!! His is hydraulic driven and we are in the process of converting the one good one over to PTO drive as I write this-------- if that tells you anything LOL. The hydraulic deal works OK but it's kind of silly to heat your tractor oil by constantly running a motor on the rake not to mention that it may not be the best for an older tractor with limited hydraulics IMO. Also you can vary the rake RPM speed with a PTO easier than regulating the flow of hydraulics to it. | |
