Subject: RE: Cleaning gas cooktop?

I was just struggling with mine the other night. My family was coming and I turned the overhead light on and gasped and the crud that was burned on. So I used baby oil and a nylon scrubby. It was helping a little, so I squirted some more baby oil on it and left it sit for an hour or so and went back and it helped. Was it perfect, no, but it got most of it off. I should do it again and make sure I get all the spots. I would imagine you could use olive or, or vegetable oil, but make sure to wipe it all off before using it again. Oh, and the best trick of all, is to turn the overhead light off.
