Central Missouri | We use 18# per acre for cover and let get tall. We are going to do some next year at 35# and kill before stem elongation. Cereal rye tillers like crazy if seeded thin. Not unusual to have 10 tillers per plant. It all depends upon your goals. Know your goals ahead of covercropping. Know the risks inherent in your soil type and your cc species and then be prepared to manage it.
