mascoutah, IL | It can be debated over and over again but the market won't care for another month. Even if everything had to be replanted around here it would take less than a week. Every 500 acre farmer has a 16 row planter and a 24 for 1000. We've grown 200+ corn here in June before so it can be done. It sucks seeing all this rain on fresh planted corn but what can you do. I have max replant coverage and zero replant for seed so we will do it again if we need to. Heck we had a stretch of 4-5 years in a row there for a while where we replanted over half our corn every year due to excessive rain so we are used to it. From all the comments I have read on here the past week it must be different in other areas. In this area you plant when it's dry. You don't get to wait another week because next week will be wet. Our springs are almost always too wet around here so you go when you can.
