Subject: RE: Corn planting into wet rye cover ground

NW IL, Mercer County
I killed all of mine ahead of corn asap this spring. Some was 12-18", rest was 6-8". The small stuff has melted down quick and it hasnt even been 2 weeks. I havent planted the biggest stuff yet because we are just drying out, but like you say, its too wet. Couple sprayer skips I had the soil in the green and growing rye was noticeablly drier. I dont know, I'd like to get mine kiled before 8" every year.

How thick did you seed it?
