One thing I've noticed and maybe this is just specific to the 30 series, but our 7830 dampens engine noise better than the 7810, BUT the hydraulic whine from it is very annoying. Different pitch (frequency) to block out I'm sure. Maybe it has to do with the size of the pump being almost double or maybe they placed it closer to the cab? Either way, to me, newer = more high pitched whine.
