Knew an older fellow that ran cows with a neighbor kid. The young man
had tags in all his calves when they turned them out.
Anything without a tag belonged to the older "gentleman".
Seemed the younger fellow always had some that died during the season.
Coyotes must have drug the bodies off, couldn't find the corpse in the pasture. :)
