Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251 | Our home farm was completely terraced by the CCC in the 1930's. They also built several ponds and planted a grove of pine trees. It was a real blessing as we never lost our topsoil like most of the adjacent farms did.
They sorta screwed up on the pines though, and planted them way to close together. Lots of them are only 8-10 inches in diameter at breast height, and they are almost 90 years old. But we really like them, we built our house where we did because of them.
I say a little prayer of thanks to the souls of all those CCC boys that worked here when we have a Sunday picnic in the pine trees.
