There are several hundred Iowa school districts firing teachers. Priorities, I guess.

Those firings are because of student enrollment drops. Only a handful of districts in this state have growing enrollment numbers, mainly north and west of Des Moines along with towns around Cedar Rapids. most are losing numbers. That is why teachers are being let go. All our local schools have seen big drops in numbers. Makes sense to reduce staff but liberals would keep around teachers with no students to teach. It's time for more mergers and more sharing of superintendents.
