Subject: RE: single blade safety razor?

SE MN
I have been using a double edge safety razor exclusively for over 3 years now. I shave every day during the week, there is no comparison for skin irritation VS one of the multi-blade disposables. I got into it essentially to save money from buying the insanely priced multi-blade crap. I have an Edwin Jagger DE89, and has been an excellent razor; as mentioned above Merkur makes fine razors too. I have been using Personna blades, they are made in the USA and cost around $0.11 a blade on Amazon. You can find a lot of stuff for wet shaving on Amazon. Also if you are interested there is a discussion website just for this style of shaving called Badger and Blade. Get a decent brush, stand and some decent soap and you should be good to go. There is a learning curve to shaving with one, and you will cut yourself if you are not careful, but I can get a closer shave and with less irritation than with the big name spendy razors.
