Were you flying it on a clear day or one with a few clouds here and there? If the latter shadows of clouds may be your answer. Now this is not as important with true color RGB but if you ever do infrared you have to watch out for that and also shoot between 10am-2pm for future reference. You can stretch that time later a bit up north during the summer.
