If you're wanting to run a planter, or even think you might possibly run one down the road, just go with the 1200 now and be done. The big difference in the two is the 800 will not do planter monitoring, downforce, or run suredrive. It will run clutches however. It won't run intellislope, do variety tracking in the combine, and can only control 3 products, so depending on your sprayer, may be limited there. The 1200 also comes standard with the autoswath and isobus unlocks. That all said, the 800 is a fantastic monitor for the money if you're not needing those features. I actually bought one for myself to run a sprayer and then eventually guidance and yield monitor. Down the road I may add a 1200 since at some point we'll probably need 2 displays for guidance then I'd use the 1200 for sprayer and yield monitor, but thats all a ways down thw road. Have a 20/20 for the planter already and don't really plan on getting rid of it.
