| Nothing beats Pioneer here, but I farm in a fringe corn growing area where 70 bu is impressive and use 78-89 day maturities, so I can't recommend any hybrids for your area. I do recommend talking to a few different Pioneer dealers in your area, the DSM, and especially the area agronomist. Also, I find that the information in seed catalogs may not be very applicable to your local growing area, and can even be completely misleading. BTW, DeKalb corn is a close second here, and I would not hesitate to switch to any company that topped my yield trials. I only plant hybrids with the highest yield, driest grain and highest ear height, regardless of brand. | |
