Who's screwing who? Nobody's screwing anybody. It is what it is both companies are marketing new products which companies do all the time and if these new products and their marketing don't work for you then don't use them. What the Big M is doing with RR2 yield is not new technology but yet a new gene discovery just like Pioneer. The Big M breeders were just using the gene gun (which has been used for years also) and marker assistance to shoot the roundup gene to different locations of the bean genome and "bingo" the roundup gene lands between two genes that express yeild and now you have RR2yield beans. Yes, Pioneer used marker assisted breeding to discover a couple genes that express yield in the "Y" series. So they made a new discovery with a marker assistance (a technique that has been around for a few years). Why not market it? Marketing for these companies is the name of the game. That's why these companies pay big money for marketing and flood your magazines, mailbox, and TV with material. . But yet you bash the Big P but don't say a peep about the RR2 yield beans from the Big M that is essentially the same thing the Big P did, or vise versa the Big P is doing the essentially the same thing that the Big M is doing without changing the location of the roundup gene.
