| The few times that has happened here I don't even get up. I just say, "go to bed". They can tell I mean business by the way I say it.
The exception is if they say they need to go to the bathroom. In that case I get up, get down on their level and carefully explain that if they do not pee or poop a lot, I'm going to take their top three favorite toys for a whole day. Then I give them a chance to go back to bed. If they still choose to go to the bathroom I monitor them and if they fail, I follow through.
That has been plenty enough to stop it quickly in the past. | |
