Woodham, Ontario
We just put it in a small bunksilo, it packs pretty easy and keeps well if you seal it off properly. We want to have the black layer in there, about 33% moisture. We plant grain corn for cobmeal, but the pictures I posted were taken in silage corn. You can use silage corn, but you will end up with more leaves and whole plants in the cobmeal. The grain corn cobs are much easier to pick.

On a SP chopper you need a head, plates under the feedrolls to not lose cobs and kernels, and a recutter screen or knive floor. The recutter screen is a lot of work to put in but does a really nice job of making sure all the husks are small, and the knive floor is easier to install, but not as effective. JD combine corn heads fit on JD harvesters without much work, as far as I know, everything else needs adapters. But they can all do it.
