I have been surprised at viewing water in a standing crop. (We had near record rainfall slow and steady but all summer long, here.)

In a bare field, cut alfalfa or chopped off silage, the water stands out as you would expect.

In a standing crop, it is more difficult to identify. In my cut hay fields it looked brownish. In the standing beans it looked fuzzy. In the corn you had to watch the video and catch sun glints here and there.

Really couldn't hardly see the water in standing corn at all. Straight down you see the dirt between the plants, can't tell it is water. At an angle looking across, you just see the plants. Only as you fly and catch the sun reflection in front of you as a flashy shine can you say there is water standing in the corn.

It will work for finding water, but it was very different on showing the water than I thought it would be. I've put a number of pics up of this over the summer in various forums here.
