2012 was warm and ideal conditions in late March so we planted a small field to dial in the new to us planter. Emerged well with a good stand, got frosted 3 times, grew out of it but seemed to lack vigor and yielded 60 bpa less than the corn across the road planted about April 20. Not scientific but convinced me to wait for the insurance date from now on.
