Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | AR - Good point. What AR is referring to is the fact that the PF3000 monitor has a non-standard setup in that Ag Leader has taken the liberty to put 12V on one of the pins. This is can very handy for powering a GPS. We do this all the time.
However, in certain situations this can be a problem. In fact after I posted about the cable that I use, the thought struck me that there was the possibility of backfeeding 12v since my "extension" was a generic cable with all wires present.
The answer to this confusion must be in the Ag Leader "Y" cable that goes between the key pad connector and the keypad on the EZ-Guide. Since this cable was built specifically for this purpose, apparently it takes care of these minor details for us.
If one were building this cable or not using it, this 12V might be a real concern.
