Applying 5 gallons of 10-34-0 in-furrow in 30" rows is pretty common practice for a lot of people. That is roughly 58# of fertilizer. As you can see in the table below MAP has a higher salt index than 10-34-0. Based on those numbers you would be able to safely apply only about 50# of MAP per acre in-furrow.
