The cheap ones are just that. I have CabCam brand wired-not wireless-on two pieces of equip. THEY WORK GREAT.
Like you, I am always looking for an economical way to do things, but do without or get an actual CabCam brand system. Good thing they are easy to figure out/install. The booklet that comes with them is prettymuch worthless. Other than that, a good investment.
