Brazilton KS | Well, we bought a new cattle truck, which so far seems to have managed to avoid being used, but it's gonna be feeding season sometime soon, and the racing slicks that came on it are most certainly not going to cut it. So, the procurement officer starts looking for some rubber to put on it. Simple process, just need to find the best price, right?? Nope, not so simple. So far, there does not seem to be any such thing as a mud tire in LT235/80R17 size. Is there such a creature in captivity anywhere? Is there anything else which will fit over the brakes on the Dodge? I've heard conflicting reports on 16.5s...will they fit or won't they fit?
Alternatively: Is there a 36" tall 17 which would run on the stock front wheel with the HMMWV tires and wheels on the rear? I know one of the neighbors had HMMWV wheels on the rear of theirs but not the front. I never imagined that it would be this difficult to find a set of mud tires to fit a new 4wd ton truck when I started looking.
