I would check the radiator first by taking the fan belt off and being sure that there is enough coolant that you can look down the neck and see it. Start the engine and check for air bubbles. Then if there is I would guess a head gasket or cracked head. Pulling the pan would let you see if a liner has a hole in it but there should be coolant in the oil and if set for a while it would be the first thing to come out then turn to oil. If water is getting in the cylinder I wouldn't run it as it will likely score it or enough water on top of the piston while cranking could bend a rod. The intercooler could be leaking coolant out the core and running in through an open intake valve just enough to push the head gasket and blow it under a load. Been there done that.
