Mobil fuel storage is the problem, compressed NG takes 4000 psi to carry any meaningful amount of fuel, but is still far short of the energy content of LP, gasoline, diesel fuel.
To get even in the same ball park as other liquid fuels, you need liquid NG, That is a whole nother ball game.

To make liquid natural gas, you need to cool it to more than 100 degrees below 0 and compress it to around 4000 psi. LNG must be stored in a heavily insulated tank and must be used immediately after filling the tank.
The tank will absorb heat from it's surroundings and as it heats up the pressure will go above what the tank can hold, this means the gas has to be burned in an engine or vented to the air to keep the tank from exploding.
About the only way mobile LNG can be used is on a machine that is put to work immediately after filling and continues to use the fuel as it boils off until the liquid LNG is used up. Only practical in a machine that runs a fixed route every day.
