Somerville, Indiana | If you use the open chokers be sure you use a round fitting to guard the end against sharp drawbar or a chain loop...A tail chain with a 35 dollar deal that pulls tighter as
it works...We get the 35 dollar ends at Oil Field Supply at Crossville...The collar is much cheaper than getting the ends pressed and is reusable...Looks like a tapered bearing collar with tapered brass inserts.
THe wire rope is fairly easy to find in partial rolls at a factory here...We use 1 1/8 on tractor winches...Buy a couple hundred feet for dollar a foot and put some back for when the one you are using gets damaged...Oil Field Supply has wire rope too...Harder to make the deal for partial rolls...Usually need to know a Cat skinner to get the wire rope at a good deal...Ha.
