Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | Aside from needing a bit of carpentry skills, there is a lot of plain hard work to erecting a pole barn. You need a crane of some sort to set the trusses and more than two people besides the crane operator. In my 60X105, there were at least two bunks of 16' 2X4s used for roof purlins and intertruss bracing. If the walls are 16' high, figure on gunning the timber up an average of 22 feet in the air. A lot of work for just one guy and it needs to be done in a short amount of time as the roof is vulnerable to winds until it has tin on the top. Roof Tin sheets for a 54' building will be 32' long. It is a chore for a large crew to get them up and stitched down. I don't see how two workers could do it. |
