Northeast, NE | Just today I had a portion of mine flown on. I was hoping to drill it all, but wanted to make sure I got the brassicas started. I put on about 45 lbs of Elbon cereal rye, 10 lbs of oats, 1 lb of rape, 1 lb of Affrican cabbage, 1 lb of Nitro radish, 1.5 lbs of purple top turnip, and .5 lbs of Graza radish.
The kids and I had fun watching the plane over our fields, and then after the plane left we were crawling around out in the field finding the seeds.
I suggest to everyone you spend some time on youtube watching Gabe Brown and all of the related videos. I have been to Gabe's place in ND and heard him present numerous times. I know some are skeptical of some of his claims, but the stuff he does IS amazing.
Cost of the airplane was $12.50/ac + $.05/lb of product. The rye cost me $10/ac., the oats $2.00/ac., and the brassicas $10/ac.
Grand total of $37.50/ac...and I payed for ALL of it! No cost share.
