Iowa | When it comes to airspace and minimum altitudes - there are no individual property rights. The air is "owned" by the public at large and is regulated primarily by the FAA. I don't own the air over my house. I might want to. But I don't. Those that use that air space are to be regulated and governed by the regulations in place that apply to all air everywhere. There are different classifications of airspace - but none of those classifications care if it's my house or someone else's. Furthermore, there aren't any special airspace exemptions allowing a pilot to deviate from established regs and minimums if he is occupying the airspace over personally owned property. The same rules apply over my house as yours - assuming both houses occupy airspace that is classified by the FAA the same. | |
