| the attached pics were taken yesterday evening.
pic 1= mix of sunn hemp (~ 10 lbs/a), radish (~ 2 lbs/a), mustard (~1 lb/a), oat (~10 lbs/a) and sunflower (~ 5 lbs/a) drilled on 8/15. Previous crop was yellow peas harvested in mid-July.
pic 2 = soybean (~ 30 lbs/a), yellow pea (~20 lbs/a), oat (~ 5 lbs/a), buckwheat (~ 5 lbs/a), radish (~2 lbs/a) and mustard (1 lb/a) drilled on 8/4, 3 days after sunflowers were planted on 30" rows at a target population of 28k. Previous crop was cereal rye harvested in mid-July.
pic 3 = some parts of the field shown in pic 2 have a thick stand of waterhemp. We will probably end up mowing the field soon after the waterhemp reaches full bloom unless we have an early frost.
