| I cannot understand people going for the Trimble 250, as you cannot upgrade what you get is what you get. But with the Trimble 500 all the hardware is in the unit to upgrade all the way to RTK if and when want to.
I bought the 500 about 18 months ago, and now just upgrading it to Easy steer that includes T2, I am in the UK and it will have cost me just over £4000.
What I am pleased about is still very cost affective for what I am able to do with it, but have not spent £1000,sd more at this stage for further accuracy as could well have spent double or treble.
So feel the trimble 500 is very cost effective investment, real time coverage is a must, and like has been said with just the 500 unit you so spend most of your time just watching the lights and real time coverage, so this is why I am now investing into the next stage of auto steer, and improving accuracy consistency especially on rough ground with the T2 that is part of the steering package.
