North Central Illinois
I consistently get more than 2' of growth on oats and brassica planted right about now. Peas should have similar results. The second week of August is the sweet spot for me, as it's late enough that the warm season weeds that germinate get hit with frost before seed set, but the cool season covers get good tonnage for grazing. I got half of my mix in early in the week, but the lower half of the field needs to dry out before I can get out there again.
