EC Nebraska | They had track hoes doing most of the work. For a non-expert like me, those operators were impressive. They'd dig around the lateral and the main. I think those operators could have attached a straight-edge razor to the bucket and shaved with it. The guy who actually jumped down in the pit made maybe a dozen strokes with the shovel and then snapped in the connection.
I have no real idea how anyone else does it.
