This may solve my neighbor's problem? He's got a 4730 (I wasn't sure before). 5 boom sections, I think. He's considering running the drop nozzles like I have for spraying small (less than 12") corn. I do it w/a Hagie running the tips about 5" off the ground. I personally don't see how he could do that w/any rear boom, especially that section behind the machine, which he claims is harder to see. I know that Dutch says he does it all the time, but we don't think we're that good here. I know nothing about the Norac or JD boom height system. Is it fast enough to control the height in small corn while spraying 12-13 mph & trying to keep the tips about 4-5" off the ground, but not over 12"? Are they capable of that? I'm not saying they aren't, I'm just asking. Does it work on each hydraulic boom section individually? Or does it move all 3 together? Thanks |
