Subject: RE: Monitor nh3 application rate with 2600

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Don't know about the 2600.

With the Ag Leader system this could be done a couple of ways: 1) use an application rate node which never controls but only monitors the rate or 2) use a Direct Command Liquid setup that normally controls but don't hook anything to the control circuit.

In the second scenario you would set the target rate to the rate you have in mind. If the rate is off, the system will try to correct the rate but of course it can't since it is not connected to any type of control device. If the rate is way off, an alarm will go off which is probably OK to warn you that your ground driven pump is not doing its job.

We had customers do this this Spring with a ground driven liquid starter pump. This would be very much like what you are trying to do.

I doubt that the Deere system will "know" that you don't have a control valve connected so I would think that it should behave as I describe above.
