Subject: RE: Raven - standard vs Fast Close Valve

The Deere 2600 and rate control module will operate an NH3 system with either a std. control valve or fast valve with up to 12 boom sections. A single rate control wedge box has drivers for 13 boom sections, additional sections can be added with the addition of a second wedgebox. They actually had the vision to design the system with multi-section NH3 in mind, hence why boom section 13 is the master on/off driver. We just completed setting up system ourself with dual coolers, a single flowmeter and control valve, two section valves. and a deere rate control module. Much like a raven console, the "master off switch" sends a singnal ( actually it removes the signal voltage) to close all the section valves as well as the master valve. Because of space limitiations, our master valve ended up not being a true master on/off valve, instead it opens and closes the liquid feed line to the expansion chambers of the heat exchangers.

I assume Deere chose section 13 as the master on/off because they knew a master on/off would be needed in a NH3 system because of need to contorl product flow to the expasion chambers and section 13 would be the last driver in the box.

Additionally, we were able to operate Swath Control Pro in NH3 mode.
