Back in my full-size aviation days, I conducted FAA approved accelerated ground schools & was an FAA designated written examiner for all types of pilot's certificates. I've been away from that for a while.
So, when will the Remote Pilot-in-Command "on-line" schools start? Are the drone mfg going to operate the training?
Seems we have until "late August, 2016" (not sure of specific date), but that's only 2 months away. I'd say someone is going to be swamped once the wheels start turning. If you're not a "current" pilot but still hold a license, it looks like it's more trouble to get current than it would be to just get the RPIC (?) license. You have to pass a BFR, which means you have to pass the oral, plus have a current medical. I'd say forget about your airplane & just get the RPIC.
Anyone know of any schools or on-line training that's rolling now?
