NW IL, Mercer County | Had 170 soybean acres that ended up with 4' heading rye at burndown. Smoked the rye but didnt kill much for giant ragweed and any waterhemp that was up. This was 3oz fierce xlt and 44oz roundup sprayed day after planting may 20-something.
The end rows had 0 rye or very thin from aerial application. Thats where all my weeds were when I finished spraying post early this week. Get out into the 50lbs of rye, no weeds whatsoever. For next year, I'm thinking of putting the fierce xlt down early, like mid April, then coming back at planting with roundup to kill the rye. Kind of a 2 prong approach.
