NE SD

For years we've been using a printer on our scale. Constant headache. Always out of paper, ink, or just plain not working. Problem with a replacement is that it's nearly $500.

Yes, they unloaded weight is transferred directly from the scale head to excel in the PDA using CE Wedge. CE Wedge acts as a virtual keyboard and types the input from the serial port into whatever program you wish to use...in this case excel. Yes, it does automatically advance to the next cell. You have several setup options with both the scale and CEW. You can set the scale to seperate info such as date and time with a comma. The scale automatically puts out an enter signal at the end of each transmission, or you can tell CEW to do it for you.

The problem we have run into is that we like to have the date and time that the truck was loaded for record purposes as well. In Excel Mobile, when you press enter, the cell does not go down and all the way back to the left most column where you started typing. It only goes to the next cell downward. CEW can be set to send the selected cell back to the left after the enter command but it only moves it one column. I am trying to work with Taltech for a solution to that issue. I might have to go to a cheap older toughbook to get it.
