How do other industries compare to our dealing with weather, price and high input costs, the old buying retail and selling wholesale. Fishing/shrimping industries battle fuel cost, quality/amount of catch and final price. Attended a three hour presentation this winter by shrimpers along the Brownsville Channel. They have to meet someone else's grading standards etc. But they can sell a small amount their catch at $12 a lb. Guess we can sell squirrel corn for $15 a bushel. But there are business that can double the price on an item by just doing the book work. Would love to be a distributor, almost legalized theft. |
